Blockhive announces the launch of new professional services company “SetGo”

SetGo provides supplementary e-Residency services for current and prospective e-residents of Estonia. As its core functions, SetGo will provide professional and business services such as company registration, business banking assistance, legal address and a local contact person. In addition, through an online marketplace, the user can obtain legal assistance, as well as tax consultancy and accounting services on an ad-hoc basis. With the service, SetGo aims to provide professionals and entrepreneurs all that is needed to set up an EU-based company online and to run their business effectively and efficiently. For a monthly fee, members will receive the aforementioned services while also obtaining access to an actively administered e-Residency community and an open information exchange between e-residents.

The service is scheduled to launch at the beginning of Q3,2019 and users can sign up immediately. Pre-registration is now open on the SetGo official website. SetGo Estonia OÜ was founded as a member firm of the blockhive ecosystem by Ragnar Reindoff, blockhive Business Integration Specialist, and Kota Alex Saito, former business development manager at Veriff and Forbes Japan official columnist.

Why SetGo?

blockhive, as a Japanese-led company based in Estonia, saw an opportunity to utilize its network, experience and expertise by launching SetGo in Estonia’s capital of Tallinn. Estonia released “e-Residency” as the world’s first e-government program in 2014 and as of February 2019, over 50,000 e-residents were registered, with approximately 2,500 from Japan. At the same time, approximately 6,000 companies are established throughout the program, 200 of which are from Japan. With that said, most e-Residency companies are inactive and use-cases are not increasing. The current sentiment indicates that this can be attributed to the asymmetry of information between Estonia and the rest of the world relevant to the legal system, tax regulations, and accounting rules. SetGo resolves the problem of asymmetry of informtion and provides support for processes that are essential for establishing business.

Several countries are currently aiming to mimic the success of e-Residency, including Japan, where establishing effective e-Government processes is a priority. Sandbox testing on Estonia’s e-government system X-Road is held in high regard in Japan and SetGo plans to take part throughout; in the research, experimentation and design phases. Moving forward and building on these experiences, SetGo looks forward to providing its expertise in the international market.
